Vfxie

Motion Capture Experiments (2021)

Concept, Motion Design, Choreography, Performance

Description

Vfxie is a short screendance that shows an outcome of research about the intersection of physical movement with digital formats, while highlighting the theme of loneliness and a human need for connection. A Duet of a Contact Improvisation dance is transformed into motion data, creating an illusion of an impossible yet harmonious dance between a human and a digital figure. Through the use of motion-capturing and tracking technology, the screendance emphasizes the theme of connection by visually showcasing movements that would be impossible to perform alone.
